Hmmmm. Let's me think. Wait, wait! That's right..Washington Post article, Sunday August 14th, 2005 - "The United States no longer expects to see a model new democracy, a self-supporting oil industry or a society in which the majority of people are free from serious security or economic challenges, U.S. officials say". Amy, I'm very sorry for your loss, but you and so many others are so completely bass ackwards in terms of what you STILL choose to believe is true, no matter what proofs to the contrary are presented to you.

This administration never believed it could give the Iraqi's their freedom. They are "shedding the unreality that dominated at the beginning", just like the "unreality" (read "made up excuses") previously shed regarding yellowcake uranium, chemical belts around Baghdad, ad nauseum.

Well. I disagree with her, but support her right to speak for her own military family. She basically said exactly the same things about how great our troops are as Cindy, but refuses to acknowledge that our brand of freedom includes rape, theft, torture, filthy water, rarely any electricity (in a desert), curfews, an imposed government and unending foreign military occupation.
No one is arguing the bravery or neccessity of our military. We argue the conditions in which they must serve and the underlying premise in which they were coerced to serve.
I am sorry someone spoke like that to her. How can she see a different side of the argument when her family is scrutinized on such a very personal level?
