Hi Kim,
Thank you Sweetheart...and thank you all.
I heard from my oldest sister Leslie, she and husband Ron and son Cameron were rescued from their roof yesterday afternoon and sent to Baton Rouge where they caught a flight to Florida to stay with Ron's family...I hope another hurricane does not hit Orlando...God forbid! She said all are okay but could not tell me any me anymore info. She said all survived, but had not spoken to everyone and could not reach my parents.
My parents, brothers Kevin, Brian and wife Mitsuko...sisters Megan and Sara are still in New Orleans as far as I know.
I was able to reach my aunt and uncle cousin in Houma (85 miles south of NOLA) and they are okay. Have power, water etc. My uncle has tried to offer his services to the buerocracy but they won't let him out of the harbor. He is a Naval Architect and has his own ship yard and several ocean going tug boats and crew boats on offer...he even knows how to close the breach in the levee using barges because he has done it before but he said it is chaos down there.
All of the homes along St. Charles have been looted, there is anarchy. Last night a New Orleans policeman was shot and killed by looters.
Where are the National Guard?
IN IRAQ!!!God Damn George W. Bush and his whole administration!
Donating to
Red Cross is the best anyone can do right now...and thank you soooo much. The Red Cross is not even accepting clothing because they have no where to put it and no way to distribute. The Mayor of NOLA has declared Marshall Law and all in the city are to be evacuated to Baton Rouge, La about 100 miles away.
Thank you for all you are doing and please encourage those that want to help to donate to the Red Cross...and may God, Allah, Buddha, Jesus, Yahweh and the Universe have mercy on us all.
If the Feds would have approved a $1 Billion dollar program to strengthen the levees 2 years ago, this would not be happening. This is why we are not seeing the full extent of the damage from the MSM...another Bush failure to protect the homeland and one of the world's largest ports.
What was the first thing the government checked after the storm was over?
The Superport's Oil Pipeline running into the Gulf of Mexico.
Same as Iraq...priceless human lives, historic art and architecture come last to these greedy war mongers.
Bush should hang for all of his attrocities against mankind.
Thank you again, I am sorry for seeming so angry but I am ...my family...all of my family have lost everything but there lives, and there is great joy in that fact, but also deep sadness for my home town and for all of the people of the southern states who were so brutally and mercilessly devestated by the Hurricane.
My friend CB and I are going to try to join up with the group from Camp Casey who is going to Covington to assist in rescue efforts...we will be hauling donated water in bottles for the survivors and the rescue workers. I will do everything in my power to keep you all informed, and I know you will all be there with me...I carry you all in my heart.
Peace, Love and Compassion...
Ian
